About

Hi,

I’m Sania, ( pronounced Suh- knee- yah) But everyone calls me Sunny like the sunshine! Wife to Vaughan and mother to Jacob 2  1/2 and Sophia just 8 weeks. (as at today’s date 2 Sept 2010)

We are embarking on a great adventure  creating a new home for our family to live and grow in, to celebrate life’s milestones and achievements, a haven, a refuge of comfort. We Plan on KDRB better know as a Knock Down Rebuild, Demolishing our current house and  Rebuilding a Brand new energy efficient one in it’s place! In the most fabulous street on the planet and I’ll explain why on this blog at a later date, We love living here!!

We are just an ordinary family , a couple who know nothing about building or the construction industry and I’m sure there are lots of other people just like us who would like to do the same thing. Well we’re taking the plunge and diving in! So follow us as our journey begins. The the ups and downs, the joys and frustrations from demolition to lock up. Which I’m sure there will be some, hopefully more  ups and joys than the other!

If in the meantime this blog  creates a reference for others who are or want to embarking on a similar adventure, That’s great! We would love to hear from you!

Currently we live in a cute little 2 bedroom post war cottage,  in a quiet suburb in a leafy cul de sac on the Northern Beaches of Sydney that is quietly undergong the “changing of the guard”. That is, older residents moving out for whatever reason  and younger people/ young families like myself and Vaughan are snapping up these little cottages and either renovating  or simply demolishing  the more dilapidated or badly designed homes and starting again.

So with Toddler and new baby and an accomplished husband who is hearing impaired, in tow here we go wish us luck as we;

  • submit plans to council
  • choose colours and fittings ( the fun stuff)
  • find a rental property
  • Move house
  • Consort with the builder and contractors
  • Deal with council ( which should be a cinch! – we hope… too optimistic perhaps?)
  • and whatever life throws at us!

Cha cha Ciao for now
